We do research on substances with a wide band gap, specifically, insulants, derivatives, optical properties of wide gap semiconductors, and electrical properties. The objective of our research is to achieve the transport and use of electric energy which is eco-friendly, and to realize a more sophisticated information society.
This research is fundamental research for uncovering the effects of nano-filler additions on organic polymer dielectric properties. The aim is to realize innovative electric properties through the combination of various organic polymers and inorganic as well as metal nano-fillers.

Our laboratory is conducting the following research aimed at developing practical applications of polymer nanocomposites.
・Controlling insulating and dielectric properties of epoxy resin nanocomposites by inorganic fillers
・Development and fabrication of highly insulating and highly thermally conductive materials suitable for miniaturized power semiconductor module
・Creation of magnetic and dielectric materials tailored to high frequencies

・Miniaturization of electronic devices, insulating properties only for adapting to increased functionalities, and multi-layer printed circuit boards with electrochemical migration resistance properties
・Miniaturization of various information communication terminal antennas which have been miniaturized and have been given wide bands

・Nanocomposite compositions give materials insulating and electrochemical migration resistance properties. Furthermore, multi-layer printed circuit boards with a high thermal conductivity ratio may be fabricated by using fillers having high thermal conductivity ratios.
・By fabricating magnetic nanocomposites, materials can have insulating properties while having a high permeability.
