- I have been working with my main collaborator on this project, Prof. Sun-chieh Liang of National Taiwan Normal University (NTUU), who hosts my stay at NTNU as a visiting scholar, as well as Prof. Shu-mei Shih of UCLA, who conducted her annual seminars at NTNU and collaborative research there in December 2025. To further enhance my research related to this project, I conducted extensive research on the Cold War contexts in East Asia at the University of the Ryukyus in late January and early February this year. I delivered a working paper developed from this project at an international conference at Seoul National University in early July, 2025. Thus far I have presented my research findings and exchange ideas with the two aforementioned scholars on several occasions—workshops, seminars, lectures, etc.—at NTNU and received positive and useful feedbacks from both and other scholars at the institution, laying the groundwork for the next phase of my project, which is to reflect on the findings of research and various ideas gathered so far, and organized them into what can be the main contents of multiple rigorous scholarly articles, first as a series of related journal publications, and eventually in book form, as suggested by my collaborators.
