2026年3月11日から12日にかけて、The University of British Columbia（以下、UBC）で行われた学会"The Great Entanglement: Reframing East Eurasian Histories in the Longue Durée"に参加し、研究発表を行なった。具体的には、“History and Historiography”において、Mark Elliott（ハーバード大学教授）“Ming Taizu on the Manchu Mind,” Shoufu Yin（assistant professor, UBC）“Why Read the Jurchen History (Jinshi 金史) in Mongolian Translation?”そしてDorothea Heuschert-Laage（ボン大学教授）“Entanglement and Disentanglement: Mongolian History Writing in the Early Twentieth Century”とともに“Evolution of Non-Han Ancestries in North China since the Thirteenth Century”と題した発表を行なった。パネル全体としては、ユーラシア東部の歴史におけるnon-Han/non-ChineseとHan/Chineseの概念と用法、中国からの視野を相対化するentanglementの方法論的な確立などについて議論が行われた。

　これをうけて、3月12日から15日まで、Vancouver Convention Centerで行われたAssociation for Asian Studiesのannual conferenceに参加し、ユーラシア史に関する6つのパネルで報告を聴いた。ここでも議論をうけ、3月16日と17日に、Shoufu Yinさんと、同じくUBCのDerek Gladwin, Naoko Ellis両教授とともに、"The Great Entanglement: Reframing East Eurasian Histories in the Longue Duree"の続編を、来年ボストンで行われるAssociation for Asian Studiesのannual conferenceの前後に行うことが議論された。

　さらに、Shoufu Yin氏が主幹をつとめる、UBC China Cluster meetingにおいて、3月18日に“Tang-Song Transition in Japanophone Academia Today: An Academic Reflection on Research Approaches and Reorientation”と題した講演を行なった（https://asia.ubc.ca/events/event/tang-song-transition-in-japanophone-academia-today-an-academic-reflection-on-research-approaches-and-reorientation/）。

　今回の出張における一連の研究報告と議論をへて、10世紀から19世紀の歴史的「中国」をいかにしてより大きな地域的パラダイムで議論すべきかについて、継続的な学会・ワークショップで議論してゆくことが決定された。そしてその結果は、関連学術誌での特別号という形で、研究成果を発表してゆくことも確認された。
