- 研究成果概要
- This research project aims to highlight the role of women’s literary production in modern and contemporary Japanese literature, with a particular focus on the theme of female authorship and translation. Examining key developments during 1895-1935, the postwar period, the 1960s-1970s, and the boom of women’s literature in translation in contemporary Japan, the project sheds light on the shifting relationship between literary production and gender politics, the changing forms of publishing and modes of reading and writing, and the ever-expanding culture of translation. This Tokutei Kadai research grant allowed the PI to collaborate with scholars in North America, Europe, and East Asia, which resulted in multiple journal publications, literary and academic translations, and conference and workshop presentations. The PI also travelled to New York, Boston, and Berkeley to conduct research in university libraries and to meet with scholars in relevant fields.
