- Under the context of climate change and rapid population aging, the health impacts of multiple interacting environmental risks are receiving increasing attention. This study selects China as a representative case and integrates CMIP6 climate models, demographic scenarios, and epidemiological models to assess and quantify the combined effects of air pollution (PM₂.₅) and heat exposure, together with population aging. The results suggest that, despite expected improvements in air quality, the joint effects of heat and demographic changes may still increase health risks, particularly among older populations. The analysis further reveals pronounced spatial heterogeneity in health outcomes, highlighting the need for region-specific policy responses.
