- 研究成果概要
Reflecting the 2025 EURAM theme of “purpose,” we presented our paper at the annual 25th conference of EURAM. We position purpose as a unifying framework that bridges individual aspirations, organizational strategies, and societal priorities. The findings provide actionable insights into creating purpose-driven organizations that are adaptable to evolving global challenges
Our longitudinal literature review investigates the evolution and interconnection of organizational goals, mission statements, and purpose, with a particular emphasis on their role in addressing contemporary organizational challenges. Beginning with Locke’s Goal-Setting Theory in the 1960s, which identified specific and measurable goals as foundational drivers of motivation, the study traces the emergence of mission statements in the 1980s as strategic tools for aligning internal organizational values with external stakeholder expectations. The 1990s marked a paradigm shift with the rise of purpose-driven strategies, exemplified by frameworks such as the Triple Bottom Line, which integrated three different logic into corporate strategy.
Based on the comments that we received from the reviewers and the participants, we revised our paper and submitted it to a journal in Feb 2026. The paper is currently under review.
