This project examined how adults evaluate children from dynamic walking information presented in two formats: silhouette videos and realistic walking videos. The aim was to determine whether impressions of children, including cuteness-related evaluations, are similarly elicited by highly reduced motion-based information and by more naturalistic visual information. By comparing these two stimulus types, the study sought to clarify which aspects of child perception depend on motion itself and which depend on richer visual cues.

To address this question, stimulus sets of children’s walking behavior were prepared in both silhouette and realistic video formats. Participants viewed these stimuli and provided evaluative judgments. The study design enabled direct comparison of responses across the two presentation formats. The resulting data were organized for statistical analysis so that differences between stimulus types and patterns of participant responses could be systematically examined.
