- The current study is an extension of our previous work, in which a cue was masked and made invisible to observers.Hung, S. M., Wu, D. A., Escobar, L., Hsieh, P. J., & Shimojo, S. (2023). Extracting probability in the absence of visual awareness. Cognitive, Affective, & Behavioral Neuroscience, 23(3), 620-630.Built upon these results, in early pilots, we found that even when the cue was not masked (and thus clearly visible), observers seemed to have a hard time estimating the probability. Thus, we continued to test how the awareness of probability affects a cueing effect.Our current results are presented by Dr. Sarodo at two different conferences.
