Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) can be seen as a promising approach to meet a dramatic increase in demand for the system capacity. So far, we have proposed a hybrid multiple access scheme employing NOMA and orthogonal multiple access (OMA) in the same bandwidth. In this work, we applied multiple transmit antennas to the proposed hybrid multiple access scheme and evaluated the effect of providing flexibility to the power ratio between and bandwidth separation through computer simulation. The numerical results showed that, regardless of the number of transmit antennas, the flexible allocation with 288 resource patterns achieves better system capacity than the fixed allocation case. Furthermore, we propose a resource pattern reduction method to reduce the cost of resource allocation in the hybrid multiple access scheme by focusing on the applicability of NOMA and OMA, which depend on the number of transmit antennas. The numerical results show that the proposed method which limits the number of resource patterns achieved the same system throughput as the case that uses all 288 resource patterns while reducing the number of resource patterns by approximately 1/10.
