This study focuses on laws and development economics, as there has been a limited amount of research clarifying the mechanism about how “rule of law” is weak in developing countries, which would often lead to the failure to comply with regulations and in worst cases corruption in public officials. Studies were mostly conducted in reviewing relevant literature, and some informal and formal interviews with lawyers and lawmakers in developing countries, with field studies concluded in Egypt and on-line interviews in Senegal and Tunisia. One of the guiding rules in developing countries is the sustainable development goals (SDGs), which nevertheless might be hard to be enforced due to lack of enforcement mechanisms and incentives.  This research was presented in an academic conference in December 2023.
