What happens to economic performance in abundantly endowed by energy resources countries with strong state? The proposed research project addressed this question in the context of hydrocarbon resources-rich post-Soviet economies: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan. The project aimed at examining empirically the contribution of two groups of factors – energy and institutions - to economic performance.
