Diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, etc. are progressing without the patient’s awareness. Without the early noticeable symptoms, a lot of people missed the opportunities in early diagnosis. A system that can provide vital data acquirement, analysis, and management support is desired. As the first step of our final target, in this academic year, the non-contact pulse, blood pressure, and glucose monitoring system are studies.

 

The following works have been conducted

1)    Non-contact pulse and blood pressure acquisition system

In this research, a non-contact pulse and blood pressure monitoring system is designed. The frequencies used in this experiment are 28GHz and 32GHz, which are the same as 5G millimeter-wave signal. In the experiment, the relationship between the value of blood pressure and the shape of the waveform is analyzed. The experiment results have shown that the pulse and blood pressure can be detected by using millimeter waves.

 

2)  Glucose acquisition system

Among various NGM technologies, infrared is considered as the most popular and prospective method. In this research, the mid-infrared spectroscope is used in the experiment. The association between mid-infrared transmittance and blood glucose concentration is studied. It is found that the infrared with a peak wavelength of 3333 ~2857 nm is a good solution for glucose measurement.
