This study was a trial to unravel the major reasons behind the persecution of Coptic Christians, the largest religious minority in the Middle East. The study found out that rise of sectarianism and communal violence against Copts lies in three factors; The role of education in marginalizing Copts, religious hate speeches that incite hatred against the non-Muslims and insinuate violence, and the adherence of the Coptic church itself to the government and how this influences the status quo of Copts in Egypt and how their misinterpretation of nationalism and conflicting it with minority rights is negatively contributing in escalating the persecution as well as political marginalization against Copts in Egypt.
