A unique system that uses the total reactivity with ozone (RO3) has been developed for measuring biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) emitted from vegetation into the atmosphere. Recently, the sensitivity of the ozone monitor in the analyzer has been improved. In this study, fundamental experiments were conducted as follows: (1) Enclosures like Teflon bags were prepared in order to gather BVOCs samples emitted from plants; (2) Preliminary evaluation of the RO3 analyzer equipped with the enclosure was conducted for standard samples; (3) Practical tests of the system were conducted for real plants like 'lemonthyme' in the Teflon bag. Consequently, it was confirmed experimentally that the system could be useful for capturing the characteristics of BVOCs emission.
