The concentrated damping structure is to control the response of a building by centrally installing a damper on a specific story. With the spread of the idea of damage control design in recent years, it is in the rapid increase of the building which adopted the base isolation structure and the response control structure. In this study, we analyzed the response characteristics of the concentrated damping structure. We tried to replace a tall building into a multi-mass model with bending and shear stiffness, and further integrate it into a two-mass model. The time history analysis using earthquake ground motion was performed on the two models, and the response quantities such as deformation matched, so the effectiveness of the simplified two mass model was clarified. The equivalent energy absorption model in which dampers are arranged in each layer is compared with the amount of attenuation when the amount of response of the concentrated energy absorption type in which the dampers are integrated is the same, the amount of attenuation of concentrated energy intensive type is small. It was clarified that it was possible to show the usefulness of the concentrated damping structure.
