 A unique system that uses the total reactivity with ozone (RO3) has been developed for measuring biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) emitted from vegetation into the atmosphere. Recently, the sensitivity of the ozone monitor in the analyzer has been improved. Additionally, as another application of improved RO3 analyzer, measurements of evaporative emissions from gasoline vehicles were explored preliminarily. In this study, (1) gasoline vapor was captured as RO3 successfully in the laboratory, (2) breakthrough emissions of gasoline vapors were simulated by use of charcoal filter and the vapors were significantly captured as RO3.
