I presented several papers looking back the last quarter century of Kabuki history, these are aiming to be examples to use

I have summarized and published some attempts that try to review steps of Kabuki in the past quarter-century as a part of utilization and application that based on audio and video records which focused on Kabuki. During Heisei Period, however, almost all stages have been recorded into videos, while the discussion on collection and systematical management as well as utilization and application of these records is still not active. Problem presentations concerned about this point shall be our missions in the future.

 Application of video materials is especially useful in presentations in overseas. I have utilized results of scientific research on video records in presentations and lectures which were held in Israel and China this school year. In Israel, I gave a keynote speech with a title of Theatrical Traditions in Japanese Culture, and introduced Kabuki plays such as One Piece which adapted from a Japanese manga series as “Adaptations in Contemporary Kabuki Theatre”. I reconfirmed that the latter is exactly a good example of “Seeing is believing”, and video materials of theatrical plays are very effective as beginnings to liven up essential discussions.

　I’ll publish several papers concerning about the research on audio and video records of No and Bunraku.
