A study of conversational errors by learners of Korean
The purpose of this research was to analyze conversational errors produced by upper intermediate and advanced learners of Korean by Japanese native speakers.
Records of conversations by 27 Korean learners were transcribed to identify types of errors which had similarities and differences compared to errors in essays.
From analyzing errors in conversation, simple errors from Japanese influences, which were not often found in intermediate and advanced learners’ essays, were found in conversation.
In the future, errors in conversation need to be identified further and next compared with errors in essays. As a result, errors in both conversation and essays will be clarified.
