研究成果概要
In my research on the Enlightenment journal "Magazin der deutschen Critik" I tried to ascertain the identity behind the ciphered initials and to name the contributors of that journal.  The "Magazin der deutschen Critik" was published in Halle in four double-volumes between 1772 and 1776. It was the continuation of the "Deutsche Bibliothek der schönen Wissenschaften", founded by Christian Adolph Klotz (1738–1771). After Klotz' sudden death in Dec. 1771, Gottlob Benedikt Schirach (1743–1804) became chief editor of the journal which was published under the name "Magazin der deutschen Critik". It is of special interest because of its positive reception of the German Sturm-und-Drang movement. Although some of the former collaborators of the "Deutsche Bibliothek der schönen Wissenschaften" continued to contribute for the new "Magazin", other authors switched the editor and contributed for the newly founded "Auserlesene Bibliothek der neuesten deutschen Litteratur", published in Lemgo between 1772 and 1781. During my research trip to Germany I studied 18th century periodicals at Berlin University and Berlin State library and gave a presentation at a conference on Heinrich Friedrich von Diez.
