- 研究成果概要
- 本研究「米国ゼネラル・エレクトリック社マサチューセッツ州リン事業所ストライキの研究」は、1945年冬から1946年春にかけて発生した米国史上最大の波状労働争議の中でも最も注目された電機産業でのストライキの一つに注目し、その特徴と意義を検討した。研究は、昨年度中に現地での追加的文献蒐集を含め調査を完了し、その成果として現在、研究計画書で設定した労組の草の根の活動を、階級とジェンダーや職場と地域の交点に焦点を当てながら、そこでの労働者と地域の連帯主義的意識の醸成とそれに貢献した労組主催の日常的娯楽活動とそこでの女性労働者の積極関与を取り上げる論文を英語で執筆している。この論文は戦後米国労働政治の分岐点として多くの議論が蓄積されてきたこの時期の労働争議研究において、従来注目されてこなかった労働運動の連帯行動における文化活動とそこでの女性労働者が果たした役割の重要性を指摘する点で、新たな貢献を行うことを目指す。なおこの論文はこの調査研究を一貫してサポートしてくれたUniversity of Massachusetts Boston, American Studies ProgramのJudith Smith教授にまず提出し、その後英日両語での発表を検討している。以下はその現在執筆中の英語論文の概要である。
