- ABSTRACT
As part of an ongoing study of attitudes towards English language education at Waseda's School of
Human Sciences, all in-coming first-year students were asked to respond to a questionnaire, during thefirst of their English I (ロ) classes, taught by native-speaking instructors. Five hundred and thirtysix students responded to questions concerning their English instruction experiences during their highschool years, and their expectations concerning their English instruction at University. The data
provides useful guidance for those responsible for curriculum planning, and English instruction, at
